We've worked extensively with Clutch Masters to create an improved master cylinder for the manual transmission Dart. The result is a billet aluminum master cylinder with billet rod/pivot arm along with stainless steel braided hose to connect to the slave cylinder. It's made in the USA and replaces all of your hydraulics from the clutch pedal down to your slave cylinder. This item is exclusive to Modern Performance so you wont find it anywhere else.

  • This is a billet aluminum assembly with push rod, and stainless steel braided hose to connect to the slave cylinder. This assembly is made in the USA and this will replace all of your hydraulics from the clutch pedal down to your slave cylinder.

    OEM rubber hydraulic hoses can be problematic over time, cracking and leaking, but also when the hose gets hot it can slightly expand, giving a more spongy feel. The Stainless steel hose we include in this kit can withstand far greater pressures and temperatures than the OEM molded rubber hoses. Another big benefit of the stainless hose we include is that it eliminates the OEM clutch delay valve that burns up clutches and causes an inconsistent clutch engagement.

    By using a billet aluminum case for the master cylinder, we have a far stronger body compared to the OEM plastic body.

    The OEM master cylinder uses a plastic pivot arm with plastic bushing. All of the oem pieces make for a spongy feel to the clutch pedal. With this kit, with our billet rod and pivot arm, we create a more consistent, direct response clutch feel.

    Clutch Masters required a large order to produce these, and we put our money on the table to make this product happen. Because of our commitment and our time invested into multiple test fits and revisions in our Dart test car, this item is exclusive to Modern Performance and not available anywhere else.

    Note: the Dart has a unique hydraulic system in that the clutch hydraulics and the braking system share the same fluid and reservoir. Most other cars have separate systems for brake and clutch hydraulics. So when replacing clutch hydraulics, we highly recommend flushing the braking system to make sure all old, burnt up oil with debris is flushed out and doesnt contaminate the new clutch hydraulics. We have heard from customers in the past that replaced hydraulics several times and it makes us wonder how many of them had brake fluid that was cooked and used for 120k miles that destroyed the clutch hydraulics.

      Would this master cylinder work on the gt models with the 2.4L engines that have 6 speed manual?

        This works with all manual transmission Dart's. Doesn't matter what engine you have, what color the car is, what trim, etc. If you have a manual transmission Dodge Dart, this will work with your car.

      When I install this master cylinder do I just pop the pivot arm over the ball on the clutch pedal and insert pin? I don't use the white OEM snap in bushing. Am I correct?

        Correct, this master cylinder does not use the OEM plastic bushing. This master cylinder has its own socket with roll pin to attach to the clutch pedal and then lock into place.
