Hondata Intake manifold HEATSHIELD gasket for the 95-99 Dodge/Plymouth Neon DOHC / 95-99 Eclipse Non-Turbo.

The Hondata heat shield gasket is a replacement intake manifold gasket made from special high temperature plastic, designed to insulate the intake manifold from the cylinder head.

The Hondata heat shield, has been shown in studies to reduce the intake air temperature significantly by insulating the intake manifold from heat emanating off the cylinder head. The resulting lower temperatures, has created additional horsepower by as much as 5%.

Fact: For every ten degrees F rise in intake temperature, air density drops 1%. The hotter the air, the less fuel the computer injects to compensate for reduced oxygen.

Around town, testing has shown an average drop of around 15 degrees F which is good for around 3 percent power increase. In certain conditions a 45 degrees F drop has been measured.

This piece is straightforward to install. You just need a 10mm, or 13mm socket, depending on which vehicle your installing it on, a socket driver, and extension, and about 1.5 - 2 hours to take the intake manifold off, remove the factory gasket, install the Hondata gasket, and torque down the intake manifold!
