Does the slave cylinder come with the hydraulic line and connector as shown? I recently ordered one from ebay that the picture showed the line but arrived with just the slave cylinder.

What you see is exactly what we are selling. We are not going to fool you with generic photos. The slave cylinder is a hydraulic mechanism with a small plastic line that comes off of it that attaches onto the master cylinder line. This is the EXACT SAME master cylinder that your car came with from the factory.

I am in process of ordering this slave cylinder for my srt4. Does the quick disconnect on this slave cylinder take a special tool to get it to detach from the line and remove the original line from the car so I can install this new slave cylinder and line?

No, there is not a special tool needed, we normally use a wrench to push against the plastic piece to depress the locking fingers and then remove.

Does the slave come preset with fluid? And once installed do I just put it together then install on trans and push the clutch in to break the plastic tabs off then bleed the system?

Yes, the slave comes with fluid installed. Here is a quick rundown of the install process. Connect the slave to the master, unhook the plastic tabs holding the slave push rod compressed, then pump the slave 50-100 times BY HAND. (DO NOT TOUCH THE CLUTCH PEDAL UNTIL THE SLAVE IS INSTALLED INTO THE TRANS). After the slave is installed into the trans, then pump the clutch pedal 50-100 times.

Would this be perfectly fine for a 575hp srt4?

This slave cylinder has no max horsepower rating. What happens, is when you have an extreme amount of power, the amount of force required to disengage the clutch increases, but because this is a hydraulic setup it can handle quite a bit more pressure unlike a cable operated clutch system.

Is this slave cylinder also used in the manual transmission for the R/T Models or only the SRT4 models. I have +150k miles and am going to do a clutch replacement and want to replace any wear items while i have the tranny down. Thanks again for your help.

No, the hydraulic system is different between the regular 2.0 and Magnum 2.0 engine 00-05 Neons and the SRT-4 as they use a different transmission. You should source a replacement part for your R/T magnum engined car.

Does the black plastic cap on the end of the rod come off when you install or does it stay on the piston?

    • Customer Service Rep

Yes, the plastic cap holds the slave push rod in place during shipping. We discussed this in a Q&A earlier, here is the details again:

Connect the slave to the master, unhook the plastic tabs holding the slave push rod compressed, then pump the slave 50-100 times BY HAND. (DO NOT TOUCH THE CLUTCH PEDAL UNTIL THE SLAVE IS INSTALLED INTO THE TRANS). After the slave is installed into the trans, then pump the clutch pedal 50-100 times.
