Mopar OEM Oil Cooler, 03-05 Neon SRT-4 / 03-09 PT Cruiser Turbo

Model Number: 220199-COOLER

If you have a damaged or leaking oil cooler this is for you. This is a Mopar OEM direct replacement oil cooler that fits the 03-05 Neon SRT or 03-09 PT/GT Cruiser 2.4L turbo. This unit also comes with a new oil fastening sleeve.

Note: Mopar made two different oil coolers. A early one, used in most 2003 Neon SRT-4's and Turbo PT Cruisers, and then 2004-2007 style that has larger inlet and outlets. The 2003 style was discontinued, and Mopar forced 2003 owners to move to this 04-05 style. If you have a 2004-2005 Neon or 2003-2009 PT Turbo, then this is a direct replacement. For those of you that have the smaller inlet and outlets on 2003's, we recommend you buy our replacement silicone hose kit that replaces the oil cooler hoses with the larger hoses. Use the search bar and enter 220199-hose-kit to find the kit.

Is this oil cooler the same as the stock one? Or is it the updated version the dealership has that will require the 2 new cooling lines also? Thank you for help
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

It is the same as factory, and is new stock. This does not require new cooling lines, however most mechanics will want to replace the lines to ensure there is no debris in the lines that will come loose and cause blockage.

Is it possible to get oil in your water if the oil cooler is leaking. My mechanic sent my head to a machine shop and did a new gasket, water pump, timing belt, and new turbo but still am losing oil in coolant. This is getting crazy expensive. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance Ron

Yes, the OEM oil cooler has been known over time to fail, and cause oil/water cross contamination. We'd recommend replacing yours since its such a cheap part.

When ordering this item. Does it come with the center insert to adapt it to the oil cooler housing? Or does that come separate
    1 Answer

The center insert that the oil filter screws onto, is included in this kit. There is nothing else needed.

What size oil filter works with this oil cooler? Do you happen to have the part number?

This is the OEM oil cooler. You use whatever filter you can get from your local auto parts store for your SRT-4 or PT Turbo.
