Model Number: 601137-RFL

With new and improved styling, the BOV-H-RFL remains true to it's roots - it's still really f'n loud!

Like all our valves, the RFL relieves compressor pressure surge caused by changing gears or backing off the throttle and has been used on turbo charged engines running up to 35 psi boost.

If you need to ask how loud it is, this valve is too loud for you! Blow Off Valve Type H-RFL comes standard with both a mild steel and aluminum weld-on adapters. Bolt-on kits are available for most OEM turbocharged applications.

I have a Injen cold air intake and Injen upper piping how would I in stall the turboxs blow off valve
    1 Answer
    • Modern Performance

James, you'd need some sort of pipe that is made for your vehicle with a turboxs flange, or you'd need to custom weld a turboxs flange onto your pressure piping to make this work.

i have never changed a BOV before, and was wandering if i needed any accessories to go along with the turbo xs RFL blow off valve, or is it basically "plug and play"? thank you

Any time you install a new bov, you need to have some sort of mounting pipe with flange. As long as you have a car specific mounting pipe with a turboxs flange, you'll be fine.

I have the Dejon charge pipes with the block off plate on the upper piping. I was wondering if it would still fit.

If your piping has a Turboxs style flange, then yes it will work. If you have any other sort of flange, you should get the corresponding blow off for the flange you have.

i have a 2008 cobalt ss and was looking into the TurboXS Type RFL Blow Off Valve. all my piping is completely stock will this application work without any modifications? and if so does this come with an installation guide. thank you

Whenever you are mounting a blow off valve, you need a corresponding pipe with flange to mount it to. This, and all other aftermarket blow off valves (HKS, Greddy, Turboxs, Synapse, etc) will not work with the factory flanges/piping. Therefore, you need to either weld on a flange to mount it to, or you'll need to find a pipe kit that has the flange to mount it to. For cars like the Cobalt which are mass air flow sensor type cars, you'd also need a new tune for your car to run right. Cars like the Neon SRT4/Caliber SRT4, etc that use a map sensor do not need a new tune after installing a blow off valve.

I have been running this bov and love it! But, I was told after 18psi it begins to leak. Is this true?

If you hear your blow off valve whistling under full throttle, its leaking. The TurboXS can have additional spring pressure to hold higher boost pressures by simply adding extra washers inside it. You can unscrew the valve, add washers, and screw the cap back on to hold higher boost pressures.

I have an HKS SSQ BOV right now, and I want to install this, is there a difference in the flange? Will I have to get a new cold side pipe
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

The TurboXS has a circular tube like flange and you cannot install it on a HKS. You'd either need to get a new blow off valve uppipe with flange, or cut off the old HKS and weld on a TurboXS flange to install a TurboXS blow off valve.

I have a 2003 srt4 I have the exact same brand bov but instead of the black top head part, I have the silver one and I was wondering if I get this one, will it be simple to just remove the old bov and install this one since they're the same one? Just that your bov has the black piece on top and mines has the silver piece

From the 90's until today, all TurboXS blow off valve use the same style of flange. So, yes your older blow off valve flange will work fine with this newer style of TurboXS blow off valve.

Does this come with instructions on how to install this? Meaning properly running the vacuum line and all of that
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

This blow off valve is a universal piece, meaning it can be installed on any turbocharged car. You just need a mounting pipe before the throttle body with flange that is specific to a TurboXS blow off valve, and you route your vacuum line to a source AFTER the throttle body. It comes exactly as shown in the photo, you may need more vacuum hose for your specific installation.
