AGP Upper Hard Pipe (UHP) Version 2 Screw In Temp Sensor, 03-05 Neon SRT-4

Model Number: 220221-SENSOR-V2

This part is designed to replace your NEW STYLE AGP uppipe thread in sensor, OR for those of you who want to install a thread in type sensor on your uppipe so that your factory style sensor stops blowing off or leaking.

The factory (and all other aftermarket) Air Intake Temperature (IAT) sensor is held into the upper intercooler hose with a grommet. These sensors tend to blow out at higher than factory boost levels. The best way to fix this problem, is to purchase one of APG's temp sensor kits.

The new IAT sensor is designed to be a direct replacement for the factory's PCM to get an accurate reading, without blowing out and causing a big boost leak. The sensor's body utilizes a CNC thread 1/2-13 thread pattern and screws into the supplied aluminum weldable bung. The sensor is plug and play so you will not have to cut splice and solder like the previous style.

The bung will need to welded or affixed to your existing intercooler pipe.

For those of us who have installed the older style of this screw in plug, and had to cut the old wires. How can we upgrade to this version? I'd assume we would have to find the OEM IAT plug?

If you have the version 1 hardwired temp sensor and want the new OEM style threaded temp sensor, you will need 1) the OEM connector and wiring 2) Find a way to cap the old bung since it cant be used, and weld on a bung for the new larger threaded OEM temp sensor.

What is the size of this bolt? I need to know it's big enough to cover the hole for the temp sensor's rubber grommet on my Turbonetics UHP.

This bolt is .74 inches wide. If worse comes to worse, we'd recommend bending a washer to fit over the pipe, welding that down, and then welding this nut to the washer.
