Crower Camshafts, 95-99 Neon 2.0L DOHC

Model Number: 221288

Modern Performance proudly stocks the entire lineup of Crower Cams for the 95-99 Neon 2.0L DOHC (Sorry SOHC guys, Crower doesn't make 2.0L SOHC cams).

New cam cores are now available for the rear exhaust Dodge Neon 2.0L engine platform. These are not regrinds of stock cores, but high performance cam cores that allow for unlimited specifications, while maintaining factory 1.180" base circle. Choose from five dyno proven grinds.

Please view the thumbnail for full camshaft specs.

Note: You must use performance valve springs with these camshafts. If you do not, your factory valve springs may fail, causing catastrophic damage if the valves were to drop and contact the pistons. It is not worth the risk! Purchase performance valve springs. They're not very expensive.

95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Non turbo owners - these camshafts will NOT work with your engine. If you want camshafts, we can help, please email us to discuss, we can help source you other camshafts.

Stage 1 and 2 - you can use with stock compression.
Stage 3 and 4- its best to have higher compression. At minimum a decked head, but best for use with 10.5:1 compression pistons, or higher.

If I go with Stage 2 on my neon with a MOPAR ecu, will I need a tune?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

All of the camshafts for the 2.0 can be installed and driven immediately. No "tune" is required, but it would help if you have a pcm/ecu that will allow for more aggressive timing and higher rev limit.

If I put in stage 2 cams do I need springs and retainers or just the springs alone?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

Like we said in the last paragraph of this page, yes, you must use performance valve springs. You can reuse your factory retainers if you wish, or get stronger aftermarket retainers if you plan on going with very high rpms.

does the stage 3 and 4 cams require upgraded injectors or will the stock 1999 2.0 DOHC injectors work?
    1 Answer
    • Customer Service Rep

You'd need to install an air/fuel mixture ratio gauge to be sure on your particular setup, but the general rule is that you should do a slight upgrade in terms of injector or do the 58 psi regulator instead of the 48 psi, to increase the fuel output.
