This Clutch Masters FX Series Performance Clutch Kit for the 2013-16 Dodge Dart 2.0/2.4 feature a High Leverage pressure plate, performance disc and alignment tool. This is a complete clutch kit that can handle more abuse and power than your OEM clutch!
High Leverage Pressure Plate
This pressure plate provides an increase in clamping force while still maintaining a soft pedal feel. The High Leverage design reduces the amount of load against the crankshaft, minimizing thrust bearing wear, and crank walk. Clutchmasters High-Leverage technology in order to achieve maximum clamping force without having to compromise pedal feel.
Performance Disc
The Clutchmasters performance disc utilizes a 4 spring carrier to reduce the amount of shock and impact during engagement. A variety of materials are available to ensure you have the best setup for your application and best suit your needs. Cushion is also incorporated on the Clutch disc to reduce chatter and offer a smother engagement. Clutchmasters clutch is also SFI certified meeting performance standards for the automotive and motorsports industry. This clutch can be used with the factory flywheel or Aluminum CM Lightweight flywheel!
Generally, the higher torque holding capacity a clutch has, the faster it will engage and be more difficult to drive smoothly in stop and go traffic. Therefore, we recommend you choose a clutch that will hold the power levels you are at, plus roughly 10-15% additional power. This means that unless you have a turbo kit installed, you should stick to the FX100. Even if you have an intake, exhaust, downpipe, pulley, throttle body, and other bolt on mods, you should get the FX100 clutch. The FX100 is the most street friendly clutch that Clutchmasters offers for the 2.0/2.4L Dart.
Clutch choices:
FX100 - designed for bolt on parts, and up to additional 90-100 horsepower over stock. Very easy to drive, great stock replacement for modified Darts.
FX300 - designed for lots of extra power, up to additional 150 horsepower over stock. Grabs faster, and harder to slip, but still street-able.
FX400 - designed for 200-230 hp over stock. Grabs fast, but this is what you need for serious power handling capacity.
Note: The Dodge Dart uses a hydraulic clutch system, and is designed from the factory to have a slow, long engagement. This is designed to make the car smooth between shifts. However, this delayed clutch engagement means you will suffer from much faster clutch wear, as well as a spongy, non linear clutch action. We've heard from many Dart owners that are burning out their clutches with only 30,000 - 60,000 miles. We firmly believe this is due to the factory designed terrible clutch delay valve, causing excessive wear on the clutch disc.
