JE Piston Rings for use with JE Pistons on the following vehicles:

95-05 Neon 2.0L SOHC & DOHC

95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0L DOHC Non-Turbo

Note: JE uses three different ring sizes on these pistons, so if you are replacing your piston rings you should check your ring land gaps and bore to make sure you get the right ones. If you need help choosing the right size please send us an email.

Standard piston bore size is 3.445, 20 thousandths over is 3.465.

These rings are listed for the non turbo Eclipse, does that mean they won't hold up to boost if used in a turbo build?

  The rings on the JE pistons are very stout, and designed for tons of abuse. Its one size of rings for either low compression or high compression. The difference though between low and high compression is the way its setup during assembly. Your engine builder depending on what your use is (turbo, all motor), will change the gap.

I am looking a getting a set of 8.5:1 pistons .020 over but I can't tell what set of rings I need. My old pistons have 1.2X1.2X3.0 but that was the old worn out 8.8:1 pistons.

  It doesn't matter if your old rings are worn, the measurements of the ring land size relates to the ringland gaps. So when you are getting new rings, you either check the box of the pistons if you have it, or you measure the ringland sizes with a caliper.
