Does this ring go where I replace the thermostat or does it use a regular gasket?

  This is the rubber o ring that goes on the lower water inlet tube which plugs into the water pump housing on the block. This has nothing to do with the thermostat. If you have a SRT-4 Neon / PT Cruiser GT you should use our search bar for the Coolant Outlet Gasket if you need a new thermostat housing gasket.
