The primaries are 1.8 od, collector outlet is 2.5 od, outlet of downpipe to factory b pipe is 2.25 ID.

Have you tested this header with the 2.0L? Does this header plus the flowmaster exhaust lose too much back pressure, causing a negative change in performance?
customer service rep
The only way you'll lose power, is if you go with too large of a diameter of exhaust. In testing, we have found 2.25 to be the best diameter for the 2.0/2.4. Going to a 2.5 helps for a small range of top end power, but creates more loss in lower end and mid range.
Andrew
Does this header paired with the stock exhaust create a raspy sound? if so what after-market exhaust would you suggest.
customer service rep
Because of the high flow cat flowing so much better, and not acting like a muffler like the oem cat, sound levels will increase. You can easily add two small resonators on the rear of your exhaust to make it much quieter.

(This question only applies to Dart owners in California where there is strict CARB testing) It would pass in every other state with inspections. This header is not carb approved. So, you can use it in California, but at time for testing if you do a carb test, it would not pass the visual inspection.
John
To get the performance gains with this header, will I also have to install a performance exhaust system? Or, can I keep my factory installed dual exhuast?
customer service rep
This header will not have any check engine light, and there will be no problems emissions wise for any of the 49 states in the USA. Only California users will have problems as they have stricter CARB emissions testing there.

I am in need of another gasket as I re wrapped my primaries, will the oem gasket from dealer work or can I order one from you?
Customer Service Rep
The upper piece of the header will bolt to all 2.4's in the Chrysler 200/Renegade, etc, however, the lower piece has a mounting bracket that will need to be modified, and sometimes extra piping needs to be added to extend the flange to different locations. Also we have found other Chrysler models with mass air flow sensors after the airbox to be problematic with catalytic convertor monitoring, ie, they trip the check engine light easily due to the high flow cat.
Neal
Hello will this work with a 2014 2.4l limited with single exhaust
Customer Service Rep
Yes, this fits with all exhausts for the Dart, single tip exhausts, no tip exhausts, dual tip exhausts, Flowmaster, MPx, Magnaflow, Heartthrob, etc.
As long as your exhaust bolts up to the factory style 2 bolt flange on the factory header, then it will work fine with this header.

How hard is the installation should it be done by a muffler shop?
Customer Service Rep
If your car is not listed in the title of the product, we have not test fitted it on your car, and we have no idea how it will work on your specific car.

so why do you say that the dodge dart dynode at 154 when it's advertised that the dodge dart makes 160 hp stock
Customer Service Rep
What a manufacturer claims a car has horsepower wise, and what is at the wheels horsepower wise are two different things. Dodge says, 160 hp for the 2.0 engine, but whats at the wheels is more like 135 or 138 horsepower because by the time the power goes from the engine, through the transmission, through the axles, through the hub and bearing, to the wheels, to the tires, you lose power. Typically from 10-20 power loss from the engine to the tires. Manuals have less power loss, automatics have more power loss.

I recently had my 2.4l dart straight piped. Would this be a problem in the future when I purchase this to be installed? Could I use existing straight pipe when installing this product?
Customer Service Rep
You can do whatever you want exhaust wise, but like we mentioned earlier in the Q&A, we highly recommend you add two mufflers or resonators on the exhaust to quieten your exhaust down after adding headers, if you have zero mufflers or resonators its going to be very loud and raspy, not a good combination.

I was curious about the ceramic coating option. Is it the typical white color, or do you offer a variety of color options?
Customer Service Rep
Look through the photos to see the finishes - the raw steel looking header is the raw finish. The high luster, chrome header is the chrome header, and the dull silver finish is the ceramic finish. Those are all the options.
Customer Service Rep
If you are asking about the gasket between the header and cylinder head, yes we provide that gasket, you can see it in the product photos. We do not provide a gasket between the two bolt flange and your exhaust.
Kevin
Do the headers have any fit issues with the factory engine cover? I noticed in the pictures that it was removed.
Customer Service Rep
We have actually made a MPx header for the Renegade with 2.4, look for it in our Renegade section. For other Chrysler 2.4 vehicles, the upper piece of the header will bolt to all 2.4's in the Dodge Promaster, Fiat 500X, Chrysler 200, etc, however, the lower piece has a mounting bracket that will need to be modified, and sometimes extra piping needs to be added to extend the flange to different locations. Also we have found other Chrysler models with mass air flow sensors after the airbox to be problematic with catalytic convertor monitoring, ie, they trip the check engine light easily due to the high flow cat.

In you guys' experience, how much of a difference does the ceramic coating affect the longevity of the headers vs the chrome? I really like the look of the chrome, but I am trying to decide is the ceramic is really with the extra $$.
Customer Service Rep
The ceramic coating is applied on the outside and inside of the header, and does a fantastic job of eliminating heat in the engine bay from the header. The ceramic coating will last a long time, possibly the same length of time as the chrome, or even longer. The chrome coating looks good but does not keep the heat in the header like the ceramic coating.
David Johnson
The header as far as I can tell has only 1 o2 sensor port. The problem is that it looks like my Chrysler 200 (2.4l tigershark) has 2. Have you found a way around this or do I need to delete and o2 sensor?
Customer Service Rep
This header has two ports, an upstream and downstream exactly like the factory header. Check out the various photos we have, and you'll see one port behind the cat to monitor the cats efficiency, and another port on the driver side area of the collector where the four primaries merge. Your factory o2 sensors plug into the top with no issues, and you use our included o2 extension harness for the downstream o2 sensor port.

Hello, I was looking in some forums and found that alot of people were wondering about torque specs of the bolts. I was wondering are there install instructions for people that want to install this at home? If not is there any place that i can goto to find these answers? Thank you and have a nice day.
Customer Service Rep
Whatever exhaust you have, it does not matter as long as it connects to the factory header.
If your exhaust does not require the factory header flange to be modified, and you installed your new exhaust with the factory header, then this is going to work fine.
Rell
So it adds 11hp? And also I noticed in the side by side comparison picture the stock has a hole and custom doesn't why is that?
Customer Service Rep
Yes, 11hp as it says in the product text, and shown on the dyno charts in the photo section.
The upstream 02 sensor location is still on this header, just as the factory header, but is moved to the side of one of the header primaries.
JT Hierling
I was wondering if I got the raw steel, could I paint it with high temperature paint and then wrap it? I want this product but I don't want to spend 120 extra dollars. I know you're not supposed to paint over the ceramic coating but nobody asked about the raw steel
Customer Service Rep
Correct, ceramic coated headers should be left open, and not wrapped. If you bought a raw header you could paint it and wrap it as you wish though, yes.
Gage Calabretta
Interested in buying but was wondering if the Dyno results shown we're an automatic or manual?
Customer Service Rep
The dyno results we showed were from testing on a 2014 Dart GT manual with 2.4. Automatic 2.0/2.4's will still gain power, but because automatic cars usually have less power at the wheels then manual cars, you'll have less of a gain compared to manual transmission cars, but still a gain over the stock power levels.
Brian Sliwinski
Is modern performance planning on making a header that is carb legal living in cali is great except for vehicle mods but i would really love a high flow header but i want to keep it legal
Customer Service Rep
No definitely not. It is cost prohibitive for aftermarket companies to undergo CARB testing just for products to be sold legally within California. We have heard it costs tens of thousands of dollars for the testing, and that is why almost no products other than air intakes from K&N and AEM are CARB tested, and approved.
Liam Dale
Do I need a tune for this header kit after installation I have a 2016 dodge dart sxt with a summit racing catback exhaust installed already.
Customer Service Rep
No tune is needed. The Dart uses a map sensor, which automatically adapts to improvements in air flow/engine performance. So you can install a header, exhaust, intake, etc on the car and it will make more power immediately with the stock ecu tune.
neal
hello will this part effect my air to fuel ratio on my dart
Customer Service Rep
Your car's air fuel ratio is determined by the ecu, map sensors and air intake. The exhaust system and header will not change the air fuel ratio, it only allows the exhaust to flow more easily.

What happened to the chrome finish option? I want some blueing color on the header after using it. Can you paint it chrome if I order?
Customer Service Rep
We discontinued the chrome finish in late 2023. You could buy the raw header, then prep it, and chrome it yourself or have a coatings place coat it to your desired finish.
David
Is there a difference in sound or performance between the three options of the raw steel, chrome plated and the ceramic coated one???
Customer Service Rep
Its possible the ceramic coated header might be a little quieter, maybe 1-3 decibels, due to its coating on the inside and outside of the header compared to the other headers raw or just chrome exterior coatings.
Rafael
Hi,
heat management wise in the engine bay, is it better to have the ceramic coated header or the steel header with wrapping? One of the things I want besides better driveability, is to lessen the high engine bay temperature created by the catalytic-exhaust manifold combo.
Customer Service Rep
Ceramic coated headers are fantastic. They resist rust well, and when coated on the inside and outside, minimal heat escapes into the engine bay compared to raw headers. Wrapping headers works very well to minimize heat output, however metal headers have a tendency to fail/crack when wrapped so we must advise against doing that.
Customer Service Rep
The upper piece of the header will bolt to all 2.4's in the Chrysler 200/Renegade/Compass, etc, however, the lower piece has a mounting bracket that will need to be modified, and sometimes extra piping needs to be added to extend the flange to different locations.

MPX HEADER W/ CONVERTER PIPE, 2013-16 DART 2.0L / 2.4L....
This item is available for the 2.4L Multi-Air Tigershark Engine, would this fit my 2.4L Multi-Air Tigershark Engine in my 2019 JEEP Compass Trailhawk?
Customer Service Rep
The upper piece of the header will bolt to all 2.4's in the Chrysler 200/Renegade/Compass, etc, however, the lower piece has a mounting bracket that will need to be modified, and sometimes extra piping needs to be added to extend the flange to different locations.
Customer Service Rep
No, these are not California legal as they are not CARB approved. There are very few parts made for the Dart that are CARB (California Air Research Board) approved other than air intakes. California is very strict with car parts and the CARB process.
