We offer a choice of Crower camshafts. Below is a listing of the camshaft choices and the cam profiles.

  • Stage 1 - Daily driver mild idle, automatic. Idle to 6700+rpm power range.
  • Stage 2 - Aggressive street use and nitrous. Slight lope at idle. 1200-7000+rpm power range
  • Stage 2 - Turbo - Designed specifically for forced induction applications. Features short duration, low overlap and high lift.1500-7000+rpm power range
  • Stage 3 - Race, popular for street/strip applications. 2000-7200+rpm.
  • Stage 4 - Full Race, recommended for drag race. Springs, ECU mods, etc. required. 2200-7500+rpm power range.

Note: We get people asking us all the time if they can make changes to this kit, ie, drop this item, swap this item out for this item, etc. The short answer is, yes we can do it, but our website listing cannot be modified for every crazy combination of items you want to customize.       Head bolts/Studs are not provided, because we want to be able to give you the choice between oem or ARP studs.

    Hi, I am looking to refresh a 2.0 DOHC. At 200K miles, it is tired and would benefit from a general overhaul.

    I am looking at this and the bottom end kit, is this overkill for a stock set up? If so, do you have ability to piece together kits for OE specs?

      This kit uses OEM style parts for everything except the cams and cam gears. So, its not overkill if you want to restore some power and increase power with a set of cams and cam gears. If you dont care about performance and just want to rebuild the motor as cheaply as possible, well then this kit would be overkill.

    Hello, I am planning a prerunner ranger build that this engine is going into, I am planning on using your bottom end rebuild kit along with this one, should I go with the stage 2 turbo or stage 3?

      Consider what turbo you'll be using, and what rpm point you want your motor to produce peak power with, and choose that camshaft. Don't just choose the biggest top end cam for max power, as that will kill the low end driveability and fun of mid range power. Be sure to consider the full power range of what you'll be driving with.

      Crower uses one set of valve springs for all of their 95-99 Neon cams- from stage 1 to stage 4.

    Does this come with the updated rockers and lash guides (typically referred to the PT Cruiser versions)?

      This kit comes with standard 2.0 replacement rockers and lifters. However, we can make any changes you want to this kit after you place the order. Just order this kit online and call us 15-30 minutes afterwards to discuss.
