MPx Oil Cooler Delete kit 03-05 SRT-4 / 03-10 PT Cruiser Turbo

Model Number: 220199-DELETE-KI

Does your 2003-2005 Dodge SRT-4 or 2003-2010 PT Cruiser Turbo have a bent up or leaking oil cooler that is making a milky mess, mixing coolant and oil in your engine? If so, you have two options. Purchase a new oil cooler and new oil cooler hoses (because the original ones are almost 20 years old and bloating), or delete the entire oil cooler system. Whatever you decide, we have put together this high quality oil cooler delete kit making it more convenient for you.

Should you delete your oil cooler? There are pros and cons to deleting your oil cooler that hinge on what you use your car for, and the climate you live in. Deleting your oil cooler will be fine for most people that daily drive, do pulls here and there, or a 1/4 mile drag car. Oil flow through the oem cooler is restrictive so deleting the oil cooler will improve oil flow to your bearings, slightly increase oil pressure, and faster oil priming time on startups. For people that use their car in mile long runway competitions, circut racing, or similar prolonged high rpm and WOT driving, you should keep an oil cooler on your car. This oil cooler block off kit will also work for people that use an aftermarket sandwich plate/ tube and fin oil cooler system.

This kit comes with a solid barbed stainless steel block off plug, 1/2" wide stainless steel clamps, zinc plated steel block off plug with pre-applied sealant, and heavy duty 3-ply silicone heater hose. This will block off and delete the supply line to the oil cooler, and block off the water return port on the steel heater core tubing. We also provide very detailed instructions with photos to install this kit. All of the oem oil cooler lines will be able to be completely removed, freeing up space and loosing almost 5 pounds in hardware and fluid weight.

If I delete my oil cooler, will the stock size oil filter still attach to the stock adapter or do I have to use a different adapter and/or oil filter size

If you delete your oil cooler, the oil filter adapter that is bolted to the oil pan has the same size threading, and same mounting flange diameter as the oil cooler. So nothing changes, you just end up with more room and zero chance of the oil cooler failing and contaminating the oil system with coolant.
