Rhoads Lash Adjusters, 2.0L & 2.4L DOHC (for use w/ large cams)

Model Number: 220206-RHOADS

We now carry Rhoads Lash Adjusters (lifters) for the 2.0L & 2.4L DOHC Neon, Neon SRT-4, PT Cruiser, etc.

If you have large camshafts (Crane 18+ or Crower Stage 3+), chances are you're familiar with the low vacuum that causes rich idle, cam surge, decreased drivability, and difficulty maintaining a steady idle. Rhoads modified lash adjusters help to improve all these conditions. These lifters bleed down at idle to reduce lift and duration, which in return promotes higher engine vacuum, better idle air/fuel ratios, easier drivability, improved low end torque, decreased fuel consumption, and pumps up fully by 3000 RPM to fully take advantage of the large cams you've installed.

We supply Rhoads with brand new Mopar Performance lash adjusters, so you don't have to worry about used or low quality aftermarket lash adjusters in your pride and joy.

    Hi,
I curious if there was any benefit to running these on stock 2.4 cams?

    Thank you

No. No benefit. The only people that should be using these are big cam owners!

Just curious if this adds any weight, I had heard because of extra weight centered over the springs valve float is a problem at high rpm?

It sounds like you are thinking about a push rod motor. The lifter in the Neon motor stays stationary and is not moving up and down.

Are these ok to use on the Crower stage 2 camshafts?

Yes, you'll be fine using these with all levels of camshafts for the 2.0/2.4 Dohc line of 95-10 Chrysler engines.

Are these for DOHC only or can they be used in SOHC? Please let me know. If they can't be used in SOHC can you get SOHC ones?

These are only for Dohc engines, as the Sohc engine uses radically different rockers that Rhoads does not make anything for.

Will these lifters have any effect on MPG?
    1 Answer

If anything, it will improve gas mileage because instead of your car running super rich at idle, you'll have a more appropriate, leaner fuel mixture.

Is there a suitable cam that used in conjunction with these lifters that will increase the power band of a mildy modified engine (i.e. K & N filter charger kit, Magnaflow performance exhaust system)? Specifically, I would be interested in a combination that could improve low and mid-range torque & possibly MPG? Any data on this?

Customers dont buy Rhoads lash adjusters then search for cams. Its the other way around. You buy the cam that suits your needs and then install the Rhoads to improve lower rpm gas mileage and power. There is no further data other than the video we posted showing the difference in vacuum. The lower vacuum pulled with a big cam without Rhoads causes the car to be rich, which causes poor gas mileage, power loss, etc. The video shows after we installed the lifters that vacuum improved greatly and driveability improved nicely.

I have Crane 12 cams. Would you recommend these? I was going to upgrade to the 2.7 rockers and lifters, but I am getting mixed information from other places.

Crane 12's are still very street friendly and you'll see a benefit, but not as much as guys with Crane 18's or higher. The video we have on this page is a 2.4 high compression with Crower 4's which are a very aggressive grind as well.
