Comments: Pros - Nice construction, welds are perfect and throttle mounting plate is flat. - Fits well, clears the transmission and driver side fan. - Completely removes the 90 degree bend. It 'feels' a little better in high RPMs. Some unscientific testing using RaceChrono and another app verify it is a little quicker in the 1/8th. Cons - No TB gasket included - you will have to buy your own material and make one. - Loud whistle at 10-20% throttle with stock style TB (56mm). This seems to be caused by the IAC slot size and position. In my case I remedied this by connecting the TB IAC port and the main air passage with a .25" slot. This basically doubled the size of the IAC port and did enough to almost totally get rid of the noise. Your results may vary. Other issues - As mentioned you must use the long throttle cable. I would suggest you install and then verify that you can get the TB to fully open under WOT. I had to add a spacer to my gas pedal to get it to fully open - this might be cable specific since I am not sure if there were multiple PNs. - You will probably have to cut open the wiring harness to pull the IAC and TPS wiring back some - extending them so they reach the sensor connectors. - The bottom of the plenum tube runs VERY close to the heater core hard line. Mine actually touched until I bent the line a little. - No polishing work has been done to the inside of the plenum. Not a huge deal but I did have to clean out a few casting marks and smooth a few hard edges. |
