MPx Lightweight Pulley

I will have to say this pulley does make a noticeable difference. The immediate response from a dead stop is much better then before. It is a simple installation and roughly about 1.5hrs of your time.

Fits in my 2016 Dodge Dart 2.0 Liter with no check engine light, and is a big difference at how much weight difference there is between this one vs the stock. My car takes off a bit more smoothly. Very impressed!

Cherokee KL 2.4l

Installed with ease on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee KL. Can confirm this modification works. The crank pulley replacement alone will not provide any dramatic power increase however I noticed a slight difference in throttle response which is what I was looking for.

I got the lightweight pulley for my 2015 Jeep Renegade 2.4L. Removal of the splash shield was quite easy - 4 screws and 4 plastic nuts. I had a small problem with the install, called Modern, but before their tech returned my call, I figured out what was wrong. After a small alteration to the pulley, It was on the Jeep. I called Modern back and informed them of the problem, and the fix that I applied to it. It's only been one day, but I can feel gains. The vehicle seems to start easier and is a bit peppier. The gains aren't huge, but every little bit helps with these motors. As stated in an earlier review, the bolt securing the pulley is tight. You will need an impact wrench to loosen. TIP: Loosen the nut BEFORE you remove the serpentine belt. It keeps the pulley from wanting to turn while loosening. Same for tightening. Install new pulley, spin on bolt until finger-tight, re-install serp belt, and then do the final tighten to the bolt. This is 5-star product, but I'm giving it 4 because of the small install problem that I encountered.

Torque needed

Comments:
In addition to the pulley, my Dart (GT 2.4) also has the MPX ceramic coated headers, Injen intake, MPX 68mm throttle body and the MPX short-shift kit, so take that into consideration when reading this review. The install was more difficult than anticipated; the torque needed to remove the stock pulley and ensure the new one doesn't fly off is considerable. Make sure you have the right tools before you begin your install. Once installed, however, there is a noticeable increase in throttle response. I don't doubt the HP/TQ claims made on this site. No, it doesn't "transform the vehicle" (expert tip: no bolt-on is going to transform a NA vehicle); but it is worth the money as it helps improve the overall driving experience, at least with a manual transmission.
